The Only Animal and Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity present SLIME

The Only Animal & Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity present SLIME, a play by Bryony Lavery.

Come. Let the Polar Bear bum a ciggy. The Azuay Stubfoot Toad is talkin’ trash. The Knob-billed Goose is getting some nooky. Physarum Polycephalum has a secret for you….

Welcome to the 3rd Annual SLIME conference. Join 100 animals, seven young translators, scientists and suits, and fellow humans and step just slightly in the future…

Seated amongst the delegates, you might hear an otter swimming down an aisle, a dolphin whistling at your elbow or a seabird over your shoulder: animals too have something to say. We come together to face an insatiable creature,SLIME, which, like facebookslime or googleslime, is taking over. Who is coming to save us? The answer might surprise you….

Commissioned by the Banff Centre, and penned by Bryony Lavery, the acclaimed British playwright of Tony-nominated, Frozen, and developed with The Only Animal, who boldly go into creative terrain where no one in their right mind would venture, SLIME is directed by Kendra Fanconi and performed by Lisa Baran, Pedro Chamale, Teo Saefkow, Anais West, Eddy Van Wyk, Sophia Wolfe, and Mason Temple

SLIME will play at the Russian Hall, 600 Campbell Ave., Vancouver from June 15-24 (Tuesday-Sunday evenings at 8pm; Sunday Matinees – June 17& 24 – at 2pm)

Warning: tons of F-bombs and frank talk of shagging. For kids? Yah, probably not. but, hey, that’s up to you.
