Four 20 somethings try to get their shit together through song and dance. It’s time to adult the f*ck up.
Pretty much all we need to know about How to Adult: The Musical. A fast paced comedic romp touching on subjects of sexuality, employment, dating, betta fishes, and Dr. Who.
Almost like watching a live sitcom taping, performers Erika Babins, Aaron Lau, Natalie Moon, and Jill Raymond effectively holds the audience attention from the moment they catch them – this within the first 2 minutes of the show – with the very witty script and catchy tracks written by Peter Abando who also served as the show’s one-man band.
Through all its silliness, How to Adult: The Musical still manages to show a realistic view on how society is when dealing with issues, and you can tell how the audience relates to them by the positive and sometimes awkward reactions felt through the theater.
I’m personally hoping this makes the Pick of the Fringe and/ or gets developed and expanded as it seems How to Adult: The Musical has a lot more wits up its sleeves.
The 32nd Vancouver Fringe Festival and its other 100+ shows continues until September 18, 2015.
