The month of March seems to be the toughest in the training season so far, having finished a 29K run and doing another this coning Sunday, followed by a 32K 4-city run 2 weeks from now.
Last Sunday, we did the 1st of 2 29K runs that went from downtown Vancouver, going around the trails of Stanley park, over the Lions Gate Bridge, through the back trails of Capilano, and going halfway via the Cleveland Dam, bringing us to about 14.5K… and then back the same route.
It was a pleasant one as the weather really cooperated that day – sunny but not hot, cool but not freezing. My only complaint about it is the time we had to go through the trails with my allergies in the early stages.
The trails were a challenge as some of them were very steep I swear at one point it felt like I was going up 90 degrees. After, though, it was a pleasant downhill run.
I get tired and sore just reading about running! :O)
